I started putting my thoughts on paper when I was just a teen.
Growing up with a father who had been to every opera, seen nearly every movie ever made, and who later relayed to me the plot of each one, it seemed inevitable that I would eventually develop an interest of my own in the art of storytelling.
Ive always loved the Cinderella romances
the happily ever afters. Yes, thats not always true to life, but I believe theres enough true life out there. Sometimes we need a little fantasy however corny to make the everyday seem a little less mundane.
The stories I write are simple and lighthearted. The characters have faults; they have problems, as we all do, but as in most romance novels, their troubles are usually resolved by the time the reader reaches the last page. Ours
well, we should be so lucky!
I will, on occasion, read the more complex works, from mysteries to soul-searching, life-altering stories. These novels are obviously well-written and imaginative, their authors quite extraordinarily talented, but having given these types of books and their authors well-deserved mention, I must say that my preference is to read something where satisfaction that comes with the end of a book will be forthcoming in a relatively short length of time. And above all, I prefer a happy, if not giddy, feeling to be associated with that satisfaction.
I believe Blueprints for Love is such a book: light and simple, and quick to read.
I hope that you agree, and hopefully look forward to reading my next book. |
